PINEVILLE — The Corbin Redhound golf team was shorthanded during Saturday’s Pineville Classic but still managed to turn in a second-place effort by shooting a 398 which was 49 shots away from first-place Knox Central’s score of 349.

“Even with the top players in the region absent, Ethan and Eli Fisher, we were able to finish second in the Pineville Classic at Indian Creek,” Corbin coach Ronnie Smith said. “Eli and Ethan were playing in a tournament in Montgomery County and we had the opportunity to use some of our other guys. Senior Cade Cooney and freshman Parker Norvell played in their first tournament as a Redhound.”

Brett Barnett and Nic Osborne each led Corbin by shooting identical 97s while Cooney (99), Zach Troglen (105) and Norvell (107) followed.
