For the first time in nearly two months, the Corbin Lady Redhounds dropped back-to-back matches, falling to the Rockcastle County Lady Rockets on Thursday night, after losing to Pulaski County on Tuesday.
The Lady Redhounds have dominated competition for much of the year, and won their first contest against Rockcastle County this season, but have dropped in their last two meetings. Corbin defeated the Lady Rockets 2-0 at the beginning of September in the opening of the Lady Rocket Invitational, but lost 2-1 in the championship game one day later.
On Thursday, Corbin was able to keep all three sets close, but could never quite get over the hump, losing 25-21, 25-22, and 25-20.
The Lady Redhounds will wrap up their regular season next week, taking on Knox Central on Tuesday and Harlan County on Thursday. Corbin defeated the Lady Panthers in three sets three weeks ago, and took a win over the Lady Black Bears in two sets in the second game of the season.
Corbin will look to finish their regular season with an undefeated record versus regional opponents. So far, they are 11-0 in region play and 7-0 versus district foes.
