LOUISVILLE — The Corbin High School Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams continued to shine during this past weekend’s Greater Louisville Classic Cross County Meet.

More than 400 runners competed in the boys race with Corbin turning in a 10th place finish out of 57 competing teams.

Sean Simons led the way for the Redhounds with a 45th place effort (16:48.60) while teammate Austin Terrell turned in a 58th place effort with a time of 16:59.00.

On the girls' side, the Lady Redhounds placed 27th out of 42 teams with more than 300 runners competing.

Hannah Morton turned in a 52nd place effort (20:14.60) while teammate Nancy Jackson finished in a time of 22:33.40, good enough for 163rd place.

“Five of my seven guys ran lifetime bests, and four of my seven girls ran lifetime bests, so it was a very successful day,” Corbin coach Tyler Harris said. “We went to see some great competition and want to be pushed and we accomplished that. I was very pleased with our effort and the team scores were very satisfying, particularly for the boys. Finishing 10th out of 57 is a big accomplishment.
