The Corbin Redhound tennis team improved to 3-1 overall after upending Middlesboro at home with ease, 9-0.

Corbin swept all six matches in singles play and captured three more in doubles action to pick up the win.

Curt Hart’s squad will be back in action this weekend, while participating in the Thunder Over Louisville Trinity Invitational.

The Lady Redhounds (4-0) also won easily against Middlesboro, 3-2, in match play, which in turn gave the Lady Yellow Jackets their first loss of the season.

“It was a big win for our team to stay undefeated, Middlesboro plays a different style of play than us,” Corbin coach Donnie Head said. “They like to lob a lot and they are very effective with it. Our No. 1 doubles won the first set 6-1 and was up 3-0 and 4-2 and even had a match point or two in the second set, but could not get the point to win the match.”
