The second reading of an ordinance amending the city of Corbin’s budget was approved during a special meeting of the Corbin City Commission Monday.

Ordinance No. 5-2015 amends the city’s budget to reflect the addition of a $342,000 community block development grant into the city’s general fund. The grant brings the general fund from $8,128,100 to $8,470,100.

The grant will go toward the extension of sewage and water lines in the Southeast Kentucky Industrial Park to a speculative building property purchased by KOWA Kentucky, Inc.

The first reading of Ordinance No. 5-2015 was held Friday during a special meeting of the commissioners.

With the approval of the second reading, the ordinance will now be published in a newspaper as required by law and therefore become effective.
