Treasurer says Whitley has over $3 million worth of unclaimed property

Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball visited Whitley County on Thursday letting officials know there is more than $3 million worth of unclaimed property in Whitley County, making Whitley County one of the largest with amounts owed to residents. This is not just money but tangible items as well, including, military medals, abandoned safe deposit boxes and much more. Ball presented a list of Whitley County residents that have claims over $500, most of which are estates that left money to people and others are stock dividends and insurance claims. Ball plans to work with Judge/Executive Pat White Jr. to contact people. Citizens can check their name at Missingmoney.com | Photo Contributed
