Police arrested the alleged getaway driver from last week’s armed robbery at Kroger in Corbin.

Frank Brian Sampson, 33 of Corbin, was charged Monday with criminal facilitation to commit first-degree robbery following Thursday’s incident. Sampson was allegedly driving the red Plymouth Reliant that carried the robbery suspect away from the Kroger in the Corbin Station shopping center, Corbin Police Capt. Tim Helton said.

Police located the car Friday after receiving a tip, Helton said. Sampson, who owned the car, was interviewed Friday and again Monday. Following the second interview, Sampson was arrested and charged, he said.

Police were also obtaining warrants for Henry Paul Sizemore, the suspected robber, Monday afternoon after Sampson’s arrest.

“We’ve not found him yet but we know who he is,” Helton said. The warrant will charge Sizemore with first-degree robbery, theft by unlawful taking under $300 and fourth-degree assault.

Sizemore allegedly took about $25 in merchandise from the store on Sept. 21. When store security confronted the man, he allegedly pulled a knife and swiped at two employees before leaving the building. As he did, he injured a woman as she entered the store, police said.
