CORBIN — Three-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart will be in Corbin during the grand opening of Corbin’s newest retailer Ollie’s Bargain Outlet store on Wednesday, March 25.
“I couldn’t be prouder to have Tony Stewart join our team at the grand opening,” said John Swygert, president and CEO of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, in a press release. “He is a well-respected three-time NASCAR champion and we’re glad that fans in Corbin and its surrounding area will have the opportunity to meet him at our grand opening.”
Those interested in meeting Stewart should arrive early, as 250 autograph tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 7:30 a.m.
A ribbon cutting will take place at 9 a.m. with a tour of the facility to follow.
The seven-time Daytona 500 winner will meet with fans starting at 10 a.m. Ticket-holders will be given the opportunity to have their photo taken with Stewart, as well as have him autograph one piece of their own memorabilia.
Stewart’s 20-year racing career came to an end in 2016, when the two-time Brickyard 400 winner called it quits to focus on his co-ownership of Stewart-Haas Racing. Stewart’s career spanned multiple decades and racing promotions. In total, Stewart has racked up 12 driving championships across those multiple promotions.
The Tri-County Square Shopping Center location will be Ollie’s 14th store to open in the state of Kentucky. The bargain outlet will call home the old building that once housed General Dynamics.
Ollie’s claims that it brings about 50-60 new jobs to local communities with each new store it opens. Ollie’s employs over 8,000 associates across the company.
Founded in 1982, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is one of America’s largest retailers of closeouts and excess inventory. The store sells everything from food, books and houseware items to toys, electronics, clothing and furniture, just to name a few.
