KNOX COUNTY -- Michael Lynn Sizemore of Keavy was back in Knox County Circuit Court Friday.
Sizemore, 46, is facing first-degree rape and first-degree burglary charges.
His attorneys made a motion to have his bond reduced from $5,000 to $2,500 and home incarceration during his court appearance Friday. According to his attorneys, Sizemore has had no issues while on bond. After there was no objection from the Commonwealth, the court approved the motion. Sizemore's bond was originally set to $50,000 during his arraignment.
The Commonwealth then asked that Sizemore's trial be scheduled for January. The court approved the request, scheduling Sizemore to stand trial on Jan. 14 at 9 a.m.
On the morning of Aug. 17, 2019 at approximately 12:17 a.m. Sgt. John Inman along with Deputy Shannon Jones, Deputy Gary Mehler, and CSO Judy Morgan of the Laurel County Sheriff's Department responded to a disturbance complaint off of Parker Road in Laurel County.
Deputies then arrested Sizemore after conducting an investigation and learning that Sizemore had outstanding warrants in Knox County.
Sizemore is scheduled to be back in court for one last pretrial conference on Jan. 2 at 9 a.m.
