Knox man indicted for two counts of first-degree incest, sodomy

Joshua Risner

WHITLEY COUNTY — A Knox County man was indicted on two counts of first-degree incest and two counts of first-degree sodomy on Monday by a Whitley County grand jury.

Joshua Risner, 41, of Gray, was named in the four-count indictment for charges that occurred on or around April 24, 2010 to April 23, 2015 in Whitley County, according to the indictment.

The first count of the indictment, a charge of first-degree sodomy, says that on or around these dates listed, Risner engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 12 years by performing oral intercourse on the minor child.

The second count of the indictment, the second charge of first-degree sodomy, states during the same timeframe, Risner caused the minor child to perform oral intercourse on him.

The third and fourth counts of the indictment charge Risner with first-degree incest.

Risner was arrested Monday and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

He set to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Thursday.

An indictment is a formal charge by a grand jury; it is not a conviction or an admission of guilt.
