On Tuesday, Knox County Judge/Executive Mike Mitchell visited the Corbin Senior Citizens Center. In April, Mitchell met with members and organizers to hear their concerns over recent budget cuts. Tuesday, Mitchell brought Beverly Faulkner, the center director, a check for $2,000. When Faulkner announced the award, guests at the center clapped and cheered. Funds have been awarded to the center from Knox, Whitley and Laurel counties and various other organizations and entities to help the recent setbacks. | Photos by Angela Turner
