Two Laurel County residents were arrested on drug and other related charges by sheriff’s deputies Friday night and taken to jail, according to a press release.

Rachel Burkhart Jones, 47, of Star Hill Road in Pittsburg, was arrested by Detective Charlie Loomis for trafficking less than eight ounces of marijuana, according to court documents.

She was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center where she was being held on $1,000 bond Monday, according to a jail log.

Later Friday evening Kevin C. Lyall, 51, of Sepulvada Boulevard in Lily, was also arrested by Loomis and charged with illegal possession of alcohol in a dry territory, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court documents.

He was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center where he was being held on $5,000 bond Monday, according to a jail log.

Loomis, other sheriff’s deputies and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officers found 415 cans of beer, 20 bottles of liquor and four bottles of malt liquor at Lyall’s residence, according to a sheriff’s department press release.
