For King & Country

Grammy Award winning Christian pop duo For King & Country will bring their tour to the Corbin Arena this summer.

For King & Country are scheduled with Echosmith and Dave Barnes in Corbin on August 8. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m.

While the band is considered Christian contemporary, the band has managed to successfully cross over to the mainstream Billboard charts. Their songs “Love’s to Blame” and “People Change” were part of the soundtrack for the CW series "The Vampire Diaries" and “Light It Up” was featured on Lifetime’s "Drop Dead Diva".

For King & Country with Company - A Summer Tour will be stopping by 15 amphitheaters this summer in cities like Raleigh, North Carolina, Ft Lauderdale, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas. The 16th show on the tour is the only non-amphitheater and it just so happens to be The Corbin Arena. Corbin Arena Manager Kristi Balla worked hard to secure the slot between the large cities.

“I’ve had for King & Country on my radar for a couple of years with no luck. Finally, our name got dropped in the mix along with two other larger markets so I had to fight for it," said Balla. "We are the only stop on the tour that isn’t an amphitheater and the tour is really spread out so the closest cities are probably Raleigh, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina. "

This concert is just another great win for the area, added Balla.

For King & Country won the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for their song “God Only Knows” featuring Dolly Parton on January 26. It was the fourth Grammy win for the Australian duo, Joel and Luke Smallbone. The song has also been awarded “Song of the Year” at the K-LOVE awards and a Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year.

This tour is different than anything the arena has had previously, according to Balla.

Echosmith, an American indie pop band, who’s well known for their international hit “Cool Kids”, that reached number 13 on the American Billboard Hot 100 chart and was certified platinum with 1.2 million in sales, will represent the first ever pop band to grace The Corbin Arena stage.

In addition, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Dave Barnes will take the stage. While he’s released 8 of his own studio albums, he’s also written hits for some of country music’s biggest stars including “God Gave Me You” which became a Grammy and CMA nominated hit for Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett and Maren Morris’s No. 1 hit “Craving You”, and tracks for Lady Antebellum’s album "Ocean", Carrie Underwood, and Reba McEntire just to name a few.
