A Hindman man accused of killing a Corbin resident in October was indicted in Knox Circuit Court Friday.

Marty Slone, 33, was identified by witnesses as the shooter in the Oct. 20 incident on Mohawk Lane just outside of city limits that claimed the life of Anthony Craig Goldsmith, 35. Witness statements indicated Goldsmith had been involved for about two months with a woman whose relationship with Slone ended a few months earlier.

Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley said Goldsmith was shot twice by a small caliber handgun, once in the chest and once in the face.

The Knox County grand jury also returned the following indictments:

¥Jimmie Wayne Rice, 43, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (two counts), second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (two counts)

¥James Jordan, 37, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (three counts)

¥Vernice Smith, 53, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (two counts), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance

¥Harry Smallwood, 50, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance

¥Jerry Smith, 38, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (two counts), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance
