CORBIN — Law enforcement has released the identity of a man who died following a crash on Master Street in Corbin Monday evening.
According to Corbin Police Department Public Information Officer Coy Wilson, Easom Miller, 75, of Corbin was walking in the center of the roadway on Master Street when a 2016 Toyota truck driven by Robert Weber, 61, of Corbin struck him.
Corbin Police Department received the call at 6:24 p.m. Monday.
Miller was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident. When he was struck, he came off the ground and landed in the turning lane.
Corbin Police Department Officer Estes Rhoades said Weber locked his brakes up and a Volkswagen Beetle hit the rear of the truck. The driver of the Volkswagen is a minor.
A third driver in a Dodge Nitro, who thought the two cars had both just braked suddenly, went left into the turning lane to miss the crash where the Dodge made a second impact with the pedestrian. The driver of the Dodge is also a minor.
The Knox County Coroner pronounced Miller dead at the scene.
Rhoades and Wilson both said the police department is still investigating the crash. However, Wilson said no charges will be made in the crash.
Wilson said it is unclear if Miller was crossing the road or just walking in the road, but he was in the center of the traffic lane and in dark clothing.
