CORBIN — Corbin City Manager Marlon Sams was suspended for 30 days without pay during Monday's Corbin City Commission meeting.
The decision was made after an hour-long executive session at the end of the meeting.
"Due to inaccuracies in the budget process relating to payroll, I'm making the motion that we suspend city manager without pay for 30 days," City Commissioner Trent Knuckles said when the commissioners came back to the courtroom. The suspension will begin August 13 and last through September 14.
"I did make a mistake and I volunteer and I admitted my mistake and I appreciate the mayor and commissioners for understanding," Sams said.
The commissioners all approved the suspension.
The mayor and commissioners did not comment further on the issue on Monday after the meeting adjourned.
