Tom Greer, center, has been named Corbin's head football coach.

CORBIN — Tom Greer has been named Corbin High School’s head football coach.

Greer met with the team Friday morning.

Greer joined the Redhounds coaching staff as defensive coordinator in 2014 at the request of former head coach Justin Haddix.

Greer was the defensive coordinator for the Redounds state championship run in 2018 when the Redhounds ended up losing in the final game. But going into the game, Greer’s defense had one of the top defenses in the state, allowing 156 points on the season and only surrendered 93 rushing yards per game and only 89 passing yards.

A reception for Greer will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Corbin High School.
