WHITLEY COUNTY — The search for a Williamsburg man ended Wednesday afternoon when Williamsburg Police Department enlisted the assistance of PHI Air Medical to search the area where the man’s phone was last active.
The body of Will Hill, 33, was located about 25 minutes into the aerial search at around 3 p.m.
Williamsburg Police Department Chief Wayne Bird said Hill was found in a tree stand in the Baker Hollow area off Hwy. 26. Foul play is not suspected.
Bird said that from conversations Hill had with family members the night he went missing on Jan. 10 that he had probably been there since that night.
According to Bird, the family had been notified on Wednesday evening that Hill had been found.
Whitley County Emergency Management, Kentucky Emergency Management, Woodbine Fire and Rescue and Whitley County Coroner’s Office all assisted at the scene. Whitley County Sheriff’s Office also came to the scene.
The search crew had searched a pond in the Wofford area three times in recent weeks. The tree stand was located just a little over half a mile from the pond.
