The body of a Williamsburg man is believed to have been found by members of the Woodbine Volunteer Fire Department, according to a press release from Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell.
Joel S. Moses, 48, whose vehicle was found abandoned on US-25W in the Pleasant View community of Whitley County earlier this month, has been the subject of a Golden Alert since March 7. The body, found Saturday morning among debris in the Clearfork River approximately one mile away from the vehicle, is believed by officials to be that of Moses.
Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley will be arranging an autopsy with the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office.
An ongoing investigation is being handled by Harrell and Deputy Joe Prewitt.
Kentucky Regional Emergency Management Director Jerry Rains and Whitley County Emergency Management Director Danny Moses also assisted at the scene.
