Law enforcement is investigating and searching for a suspect after a reported armed robbery at a hotel in Corbin early Saturday morning.

At about 2:30 a.m. Corbin City Police Department and Laurel County Sheriff's Office responded to Quality Inn on Adams Road in Corbin where the clerk said a man entered the front lobby of the hotel and jumped over the counter armed with a knife.

The press release from the Laurel County Sheriff's Office said the man took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

The report said the man then forced the clerk into the breakfast area of the hotel threatening him.

The suspect then fled out the door and has not been located, according to the press release.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5-foot, 10-inches tall, 130 to 150 pounds. He was wearing camo gloves, coveralls, and a bandanna with two eyeholes cut out.
