Car fire stalls interstate traffic

CORBIN — Traffic was backed up for at least a mile near mile marker 33 while West Knox Fire Department firefighters battled this car fire.

The scorched Toyota Camry was being driven by Rick Holt, of Richmond. Holt said he was driving on northbound I-75 Tuesday when he “heard a pop” and had to pull over.

Holt, who was riding with an unidentified female passenger, said he thought it was likely a transmission problem that led to the mid-afternoon blaze. No one was injured.
