Winter Weather Advisory

CORBIN — According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. until 11 p.m. Friday for the Tri-County.

A winter storm is forecast to move into the area during the overnight hours tonight. This storm will start as snow and then turn to a mix of sleet and freezing rain or drizzle.

As the system moves out of the area late Friday afternoon, the snow will change over to a mix of sleet and freezing drizzle and then gradually taper off from northwest to southeast during the evening hours.

This system will create hazardous road conditions due to the freezing road temperatures expected during the event.

Motorists should exercise caution if they need to travel the roads.

The five are the first of the initial 24 that will be put in the park by the non-profit organization, the Friends of Colonel Sanders.
