CORBIN — By Becky Killian / Editor
Kentucky Culture Day was held Thursday in the Corbin High School Media Center. It was attended by students in Cheryl Tinsley’s Kentucky Studies class, an elective 12-week class that teaches students about Kentucky’s unique characteristics and culture.
During Kentucky Culture Day, students dined on traditional Kentucky foods and beverages, such as biscuits and gravy, Kentucky Fried Chicken and corn muffins. Also displayed was information about the state, including famous politicians and celebrities.
Included among the dishes offered was a venison stew provided by student Colton Merritt, 17. Merritt said he shot the nine-point buck in November.
