Puttin’ on the Ritz

CORBIN — By LeeAnn Cain / Staff Writer

The students at Lynn Camp High School experienced what it was like to live in the 1920s Friday. Teachers Corri Taylor and Brooke Williamson combined their classes and with help from Curriculum Coach Sharon Criswell threw a 1920s party.

Students dressed in attire from the decade; sequin dresses, fringe, suits and ties, head bands, pearls, etc. They learned (and performed) the Charleston taught by Malory Head, the school’s college coach. They watched the movie “The Great Gatsby” in the school’s auditorium and finished the day with 1920s style food, desserts, and drinks.

They also had the opportunity to have their photo taken by photographer Jennifer Campbell from Barbourville in front of a 1920s-themed backdrop.
