Welcome to the World

Zoe Faye Newport Born on New Year’s Day at Saint Joseph London

CORBIN — Zoe Faye Newport was welcomed into the world at 1:21 a.m. New Year’s Day. She was 6 pounds, 12 ounces and 19 inches in length. She is the daughter of Brianna Newport, of Corbin. Pictured are Zoe, her older brother, Daniel and Mom. Brianna said, “I was not expecting to deliver on New Years Day.  I had a C-section

scheduled but went into labor just before midnight on New Years Eve.” Staff from the Birthing Center at Saint Joseph London gathered a wagon load of gifts worth about $1,000 for the hospital’s first newborn of the year.  Local businesses donated most of the items with hospital volunteers and the Birthing Center donating the rest. While most of the gifts are for Zoe and Mom, brother Daniel had his eye on the red wagon.
