Beaver Creek excursion draws dozens

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — By Becky Killian / Editor

More than 50 hikers trekked through the Beaver Creek Wilderness Saturday during the first of the month hike offered by Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.

While some hikers opted for an optional shorter excursion, the majority walked six miles on the Bowman Ridge Loop, learning about early settlement in the area as well as about the plants and animals that inhabit the area.

Pam Gibson, the park’s trails maintenance director, led the hike.
