Two indicted for charges involving a child

Two Corbin residents were indicted separately Monday in Whitley County Circuit Court for charges involving a child under age 12.

Corbin among 25 beneficiaries of ‘bornlearning Academy’ grants

A Corbin primary center serving grades K-2 and an Ashland elementary school are among the 25 beneficiaries of “bornlearning Academy” grants from Kentucky’s Race to the Top Learning grants and 14 more of the academies to assist parents of pre-kindergarten children will be funded by Toyota Manufacturing.

Woman sets fire to newspapers in home

Deputies arrested a woman Thursday after her grandfather said she was setting fire to newspapers in his home, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
