CORBIN — The Laurel County African American Heritage Center held an open house Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The open house allowed visitors to tour the center and gardening site they work on in partnership with Grow Appalachia.
The center is comprised of historical items to highlight the African American heritage throughout Laurel County. Numerous pictures, books, military items, sports memorabilia and various other items line the walls and shelves of the center.
The Grow Appalachia garden provides food for canning lessons and to feed people in need across Laurel County.
