CORBIN — By John L. Ross / Staff Writer

One woman suffered some injuries after this two-truck crash on Hwy. 6 Thursday afternoon. According to one witness at the scene who requested to remain anonymous, “I was coming over the hill, and heard the brakes squealing — I saw that (white) truck had no way to stop. She (the driver of the blue-colored truck) just pulled out. There was just no way in the world he could have stopped.” The crash happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 6 and Dowis Chapel Road, near the Whitley/Knox county line. One truck was a two-door Chevrolet, the other was a Ford F-150. The trucks crashed in the intersection, and ended up through a fence on private property, obliterating a church sign. Woodbine Fire Department and Knox County EMS responded to the scene, and Kentucky State Trooper R. D. Maynard investigated the crash. The road was shut down briefly so emergency personnel could clear the crash. It appeared the male driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured. The female driver of the Ford was treated at the scene, but it was unclear at press time whether she was taken to the hospital.
