CORBIN — Breast Cancer Awareness Month Events

BRMC information booth

BRMC’s Breast Cancer Awareness information table will be set up in the main lobby of the hospital from 2-4 p.m. through Friday.

UC Camo/Denim Day

University of the Cumberlands will hold Camo/Denim Day Friday to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Test drives for Cancer

Falls Auto Group will donate $20 to the American Cancer Society for every person who test drives a car from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Knox Central High School. No purchase necessary. Call 521-9420.

BRMC information booth

BRMC’s information booth will be set up Monday at Corbin’s Octoberfest with pink specialty items for sale each day, such as pink cotton candy or pink snow cones.

Baptist Family Fitness run

The Baptist Family Fitness 2 Mile Run/Walk will be Monday at 7 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Tri-County Cancer Coalition and Knox County Cancer Fund.

Laurel Grocery cookout

Laurel Grocery Company will host a fund raiser cookout for Breast Cancer Awareness Month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday Call Teresa DeSpain at 878-6601, ext. 1176.

Mobile Mammography Unit

 A mobile “digital” Mammography coach will be at La Esperanza Restaurant beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12. Call the Knox County Health Department at 546-3486.

The Times-Tribune will be selling Breast Cancer Awareness Month T-shirts. Watch the Times-Tribune for an announcement.

Pink business ribbons

BRMC is asking businesses or individuals to help sponsor the “Paint the Town Pink Event.”  For a $30 sponsorship, the business or individual will receive a pink door ribbon and be included in printed material. Call 523-8584 or 523-8547.

CFD Pink Helmets/T-shirts

The Corbin Fire department is wearing pink helmets and selling T-shirts to raise money for the Tri-County Cancer Coalition. Call 523-6529.

Curves membership

Corbin Curves is offering $0 joining fee during the month of October with proof of a mammogram in the last year or a donation of $25 to the American Cancer Society. Call 528-5200.
