WHITLEY COUNTY — The Whitley County Lady Colonels suffered a 58-55 loss Monday night to Lincoln County, but also lost center Candice Craig in the process.

Craig went down in the first quarter with what was eventually diagnosed as a broken hand.

Lady Colonels head coach Larry Anderson said he expected Craig to be out for about four to six weeks.

“They said four to six weeks, so that’s what we will expect and hope for,” he said. “It’s tough for us because we really don’t have anyone that size to fill in down low, but we’ll just have to see who steps up in that situation.”

As for Monday’s game, Anderson said the Lady Colonels played as bad a game as he’s seen in some time in the early going. He was pleased with the way his team turned things around eventually.

“We really played as ugly as we possibly could have played in the first half,” Anderson said. “We just looked like we didn’t really know what we were doing our there,” he added. “But I was pleased with the way we turned things around late.”
