ELIZABETHTOWN — The Corbin Lady Redhounds continued to struggle over the weekend as they went 1-2 in the Lady Bulldog Classic at John Hardin High School.

The Lady Redhounds dropped losses to Mercer County (4-1) and Thomas Nelson (10-0), while picking up a 5-4 win over the host team, John Hardin Lady Bulldogs.

The two losses send the Lady Redhounds to 3-6 on the season, with wins over Grainger County, Tenn., Pulaski County and John Hardin.

As a team, Corbin has been outscored 38 to 22 on the season, giving an average of 4.2 goals per game. Offensively, Corbin has scored at a rate of just two goals per game.

Morgan Boggs tallied Corbin’s only goal against Mercer County, while Boggs (3), Kaitlyn Stidham (1) and Madalyn Thompson combined for the Lady Redhounds’ five goals in the win over John Hardin.

With six losses, things won’t get much easier for the Lady Redhounds as they face district foe Whitley County Wednesday at home, followed by a pair road games against Berea and North Laurel.

The Lady Redhounds will return home for a pair of matches against Model and Sayre, before hitting the road against Southwestern.

From that point, the Lady Redhounds will close out the regular season with three of their final four matches at home against Somerset, Perry Central and Lincoln County, with a road match against Montgomery Central set to follow the Somerset match.
