Once again the inability to finish cost the South Laurel Cardinals, falling 3-1 to visiting Oneida Baptist Institute Thursday evening in boys’ soccer.
“It’s the same old song,” South Laurel coach Amber Hensley said. “We couldn’t finish.”
But that wasn’t the only problem Hensley saw with her team against the Mountaineers.
“They weren’t showing any heart to go to the ball,” Hensley said.
OBI was able to score two goals in the first half despite South Laurel having the better chances. The difference being the Mountaineers finished their chances while South did not.
In the 4th minute South’s TK Hacker fired a shot directly at OBI keeper Moses Vincent for an easy save. Hacker found Rivers Atkins in the 21st minute, but his shot was also saved by Vincent.
