LYNN CAMP — The Lynn Camp Wildcats closed the regular season out with a 50-12 loss to Middlesboro, but head coach Phil Russell said his team is ready for the new season to start next week.
“I told the kids that we just have to look past this game and get ready for next week,” Russell said. “The good news is that we live to play another day and we’ve got a shot to move on in the playoffs against a team that I think we have a shot at beating.”
It looked as though the Wildcats would get an early lead when they scored on the first play from scrimmage, but the play was ccalled back on a penalty. Russell said he felt like that call, along with a few others, may have taken some wind out of his players’ sails.
