Lynn Camp edges Williamsburg on the road in tennis action, Corbin, KY

WILLIAMSBURG — The Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats had to hold off a much-improved Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jacket squad to pick up a 6-5 win on the hardcourts.

“It was a rematch from last week and both teams continued to impress with highly competitive matches,” Lynn Camp coach Terry Jones said. “Our lone senior, Monica Engle, has been playing really well winning two of her last three matches. Brooklyn Bryant continues to show why her tennis game will only get better. Brooklyn is super-competitive. There is not a ball that she can’t get to. She must continue to improve her serving, but her athletic ability makes up for her inexperience. She won a very competitive match 9-7 showing her competitive nature.

“Bradi Coe and Kristen Kersey continue their winning ways,” he added. “Both won their singles matches and won a super competitive doubles winning in a tiebreaker. One thing that troubled me tonight with our game was our serving from top to bottom. We have been working extremely hard on it but we must continue getting better. I feel that it cost us a couple matches tonight.”
