BARBOURVILLE — The Barbourville Lady Tigers continue to make history this season as they completed a sweep of both North and South Laurel Friday, knocking off the Lady Jaguars 74-59.

The win marked the first time in the program's history the Lady Tigers have beaten both teams in the same season.

Kara Erslan continued to be impressive as she led the Lady Tigers with 20 points, while Amber Mills added 17.

Kendall Ellington led the Lady Jaguars with 12 points in the loss.

Barbourville took a 23-10 lead after the first quarter, but the Lady Jaguars played their opponent even as the two teams scored 16 points apiece in the second quarter.

The Lady Tigers extended the lead with a 22-16 third quarter effort, staking Barbourville to a 61-42 lead with eight minutes to play in the game.

North Laurel outplayed the Lady Tigers 17-13 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to close the gap.

Barbourville will be back in action Monday when they face Lynn Camp in the opening round of the 13th region All "A" Classic at Williamsburg High School.
