Fear 'Les' Diamond Rankings

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — Fear ‘Les’ Softball Diamond Rankings

1. North Laurel (13-7, 5-0) — The Lady Jaguars continue to show they’re going to be tough to beat.

2. South Laurel (21-2, 8-1) — The defending 13th Region champions seem to be peaking at the right time.

3. Corbin (8-14, 6-2) — The Lady Redhounds are another team that looks to be peaking at the right time, too. Players such as Megan Greene and Harleigh Grubb have given Corbin a lift this past week with the glove, bat and pitching.

4. Clay County (10-3, 5-2) — It looks like the Lady Tigers are coming on strong.

5. Harlan County (10-4, 6-1) — This is a team to keep an eye out on.

6. Harlan (5-7, 3-5) — The Lady Green Dragons’ record might not show it, but they are improved.

7. Middlesboro (10-4, 8-3) — The Lady Yellow Jackets dropped games to both Harlan County and Harlan this week.

8. Pineville (8-4, 5-4) — The Lady Mountain Lions are quietly putting together a solid season.

9. Jackson County (7-8, 5-3) — The Lady Generals are a hard team to figure out.

10. Knox Central (5-17, 5-10) — The Lady Panthers move back in to my top 10.

3. Harlan County (14-8, 8-3) — The Black Bears are a team that could very well wind up winning the region.

4. South Laurel (14-5, 8-3) — The Cardinals are struggling at the plate, which has led to a three-game losing skid.

5. Whitley County (14-6, 6-2) — The Colonels have a big 50th District match-up with Corbin coming up.

6. Clay County (9-12, 4-4) — The Tigers are heating up at the right time.

7. Middlesboro (13-10, 8-5) — The Yellow Jackets might be ranked seventh, but they are very good.
