Chris Parsons' Daily Region Pick 'Em

CORBIN — It's down to the games that really count and to be honest, with four games to pick in today's edition, there's not a lot of room to goof around. Not only did I take two steps back in Friday's picks, I fell behind Les Dixon. With that said, it's time to play catch-up.

13th Region Tournament

Girls Semifinals

Corbin 64, Bell County 58

I picked a Corbin/Whitley County final earlier this week with Whitley County taking home the region crown. The Lady Colonels let me down as far as picks go,but I'm standing by Corbin in this one as I pick the Lady Redhounds to advance to the region finals again.

13th Region Tournament

Girls Semifinals

Harlan 61, Clay County 59

A lot of people have forgotten about the Lady Dragons win over Clay County earlier this season. Sure it may have come in the first two weeks of the season, but if you don't think Harlan coach Derrick Akal is going to try and use that win as fuel to the fire, you're crazy. Harlan pulls this one out by a slim two-point margin.

13th Region Tournament

Boys Semifinals

Williamsburg 51, Clay County 50

Les Dixon said on the previous page people have shaken their heads at his picking Clay County to win the region. Well the same can be said for me when I picked Williamsburg to upset Knox Central. There's just something about this Yellow Jacket team that makes you want to pick them. Patrick Robinson will pull another rabbit out of his hat tonight.

13th Region Tournament

Boys Semifinals

Corbin 81, Bell County 66

To be honest, I don't see how anybody can pick against Tony Pietrowski in a one-game, win or go home situation. I know I did against Jackson County, but I've learned my lesson. Corbin wins this one easily, cruising to Monday's region finals to face Williamsburg.
