FORT WALTON BEACH, FLA. — The North Laurel Lady Jaguars’ game against North Hardin was a rain out Wednesday, but they did manage to get a game in against Crestview, Fla.
The Lady Jaguars couldn’t pull out a win over the Lady Bulldogs, dropping a 3-2 decision to fall to 4-5 on the season.
“That was a solid team we played,” North Laurel assistant coach Rogers Strong said. “We played a good game, but they did just enough to pull out the win.”
North Laurel received a scare during the game when shortstop Sidney Herrell made a diving catch and looked to have been injured, but according to Strong, Herrell was doing better.
The Lady Jaguars were led by Herrell’s and Kaitlin Yantz’s two-hit performance, as North Laurel finished the game with seven hits.
“It was a close game,” Strong said. “We had our chances. I thought defensively we played really good. Hopefully we can get our game in tomorrow.”
