Lady Cardinals get blanked at home

CORBIN — By Les Dixon / Sports Editor

SOUTH LAUREL — The South Laurel Lady Cardinals were shut out for the third time this season, as Lexington Christian picked up a 4-0 win over South Laurel Thursday.

The game was tied at 0-0 at halftime before South Laurel failed to score on two different plays, and the Lady Eagles capitalized by scoring four goals during the game’s final 40 minutes.

“I thought we played well in the first half, but were just flat in the second half,” South Laurel coach Todd White said. “It was a tale of two halves. It was like a big prize fight in the first half, but they took us to the mat in the second half, and we didn’t recover.”
