MCCREARY CENTRAL — Becky Osborne’s North Laurel Lady Jaguars have put together an impressive five-game win streak thanks to some red-hot hitting and solid pitching.
The Lady Jaguars (9-5) captured their fifth win in a row by defeating McCreary Central, 11-0. North Laurel pounded out 13 hits and used a six-run third inning to pull away from the Lady Raiders.
“It was a good win for us,” Osborne said. “I believe we are getting in sync at the right time compared to earlier in the year.”
North Laurel has outscored its opponents 43-3 during the win streak, as Megan Baldwin got the win on the mound by tossing a complete game shut out while allowing five hits and finishing with four strikeouts.
“Our pitchers are pitching well right now and everything is looking good,” she said. “I’m happy with the way we are playing.”
Blake Johnson led the way at the plate for the Lady Jaguars with a 3-for-3, one RBI effort while Sidney Herrell went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Vanessa Smith collected two hits and two RBIs while Farris Strong went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
“We are really hitting the ball well,” Osborne said. “We killed the ball against McCreary Central.”
