CORBIN — The Corbin Lady Redhounds cruised past visiting Williamsburg Tuesday, picking up a 69-28 win to improve to 17-6 on the season.
Jennifer Parsons’ squad has now won five straight and 9-of-10, dating back to late December.
After the win, Parsons said she felt like her team came out and did exactly what she asked, which was a huge key in the game.
“I felt like each player on our team came out ready to play,” Parsons said. “We had good intensity on both ends of the floor from the start.
“We had big plays from Brooklyn Ashurst throughout the game and Natalie Gallagher gave us great effort off the bench,” she added.
Corbin set the tone early on, jumping out to a 14-6 lead in the first four minutes of the game.
The Lady Redhounds used an 11-6 run to close the quarter, leading 25-12.
Corbin continued to push the pace in the second quarter, starting the period with a 13-0 run before another Lady Jacket timeout. Corbin scored eight of the final 10 points of the half to extend the lead to 46-19 at the break.
Williamsburg scored just one point in the third quarter, while a 10-8 fourth quarter effort increased Corbin’s lead to 69-28 as time expired, sending the Lady Redhounds to the win.
