FORT WALTON BEACH, FLA. — Mental errors caught up to the Corbin Lady Redhounds Thursday, which in turn led to their first loss in the Fort Walton Beach Classic.

After winning three straight games in Florida, the Lady Redhounds (6-3) fell 9-5 to 11th Region foe Tates Creek.

“We just didn’t execute at times,” Corbin coach Chris Hart said. “We made three errors, but the biggest things are that we made too many mental mistakes.

“Not throwing the ball where we were supposed to and other things like that cost us,” he added. “We just didn’t play well today.”

Lindsey Barton led the Lady Redhounds, going 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs while Hannah Hart took the loss on the mound, allowing nine hits while striking out only two batters.

“Hannah threw OK, but she didn’t throw her best,” Hart said. “We learned a lot of things today and hopefully we can get back on track tomorrow.”
