Whitley County 10, Barbourville 0

The game was tied up at 0-0 until the Colonels broke the game open with 10 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat Barbourville, 10-0.

Whitley County took advantage of five Tiger errors, as five different Colonel players collected a hit in the win. Corey Crisologo led Whitley County with two RBIs, while Stevie Watson picked up the win on the mound by tossing a one-hitter and finishing the game with four strikeouts.

South Laurel 7, Somerset 4

Trent Abner and Daniel Neal each hit a home run during South Laurel’s 7-4 road win over Somerset Friday. The Cardinals used a five-run third inning to separate themselves from the Briar Jumpers while never looking back.

Neal’s grand slam gave his team a 5-0 edge while Abner’s two run homer in the fourth gave his team a comfortable 7-0 edge.

Somerset rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fourth while adding another run in the sixth, but couldn’t get any closer.

Taylor Morris picked up the win on the hill for South Laurel while Braden Miller was credited with the save.
