CLAY COUNTY — Rob Ledington’s Corbin Redhounds lost their first game of the season, as Clay County handed the Redhounds a 15-3 loss on Wednesday.
“We just didn’t play well,” Ledington said. “We didn’t pitch well and we didn’t swing the bats well. We made five or six errors and they took advantage of them.
“They won the game with a three-run home run in the fifth inning and it’s just a tough loss,” he added. “It’s a disappointing loss because we played so bad. When you make that many errors against a team like Clay County that can hit the ball, you’re asking for trouble.”
Corbin will try to get back to its winning ways today at home against North Laurel.
“If we play like we did tonight, we’re going to lose again,” Ledington said. “Up to this point, we had been playing well. I’m glad it’s over. The good thing about baseball is that you can come back the next day and play another game.”
