Little League All-Star tournaments are set

It’s that time of the season again. Yep, Little League Baseball and Softball All-Star Tournaments will begin this weekend with girls’ action beginning first.

Listed below is all of the updated information for each tournament that was submitted.


9-10 year-olds District at South London

The tournament begins Saturday with Tri-City and North Laurel facing off against each other at noon. Pulaski County and Hazard will square-off at 2 p.m. while South London and Clay County faces each other at 4 p.m.

The winner of the North Laurel and Tri-City game will face Corbin at 1 p.m. Sunday while the winners of the Pulaski/Hazard and South London/Clay will play each other at 3 p.m.

The championship game is scheduled to be played at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26.

11-12 year-olds District

at South London

Pulaski County and South Laurel go head-to-head at noon Saturday while Knox County will play McCreary County at 2 p.m. Corbin will face off against Hazard at 4 p.m., and North Laurel vs. Clay County will take place at 6 p.m.

Winner’s bracket semifinals are scheduled to be played at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, while the championship game is slated for Thursday, June 26 at 6 p.m.


9-10 year-olds Area 2 at South London

North Laurel Green will play Corbin No. 1 at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, while Corbin No. 2 will face off against South London at 3 p.m.

The winner of North Green and Corbin will play North Blue at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, while the winner of Corbin No. 2 and South London will go against Clay County at 4 p.m.

The winner's bracket final is slated for 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, while the loser's bracket final is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, July 2.

11-12 year-olds Area 2

at Corbin

North Laurel and Clay County opens things at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, while Corbin and South London follow at 8 p.m. The two winners will then play in the winner’s bracket finals Sunday, June 29, at 2 p.m. while a loser bracket game will follow at 4 p.m. The loser bracket final will be played Monday, June 30, at 6 p.m.

11-12 year-olds Area 3

At Pineville/Bell Little League

Pineville/Bell will play Middlesboro at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, while Williamsburg vs. Knox County will follow at 8 p.m. The winner's bracket final is scheduled to be played on Sunday, June 29, at 2 p.m. while the loser's bracket final will be played on Monday, June 30.

    BOWLING GREEN — The Corbin Little League All Stars began the 2014 State Tournament with as exciting a finish as any baseball fan could hope for, but struggled on day two, falling to 1-1 after the first two days.

    BOWLING GREEN — After what could have turned in to a demoralizing 24-0 loss to Eastern to start State Tournament pool play Saturday, the Knox County 11-year-old All Stars recovered nicely Sunday, picking up a 4-2 win over Paintsville.
