LYNN CAMP — The Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats shrugged off a frigid 0-for-11 start from the floor during the first quarter to beat the Kilsyth Australian Travel Team, 57-44.

The Lady Wildcats (3-1) received a 19-point scoring effort from Kayla Smith while Breanna Hollin knocked down two important three-pointers during the second quarter to help her team jump out on the Cobras.

“We started off slow again and we’ve done that in all four games and  that’s something that we are going to correct or it’s gonna come back and get us,” Lynn Camp assistant coach Mike Hensley said. “I think overall this was a good experience for us.

“Like I said the other night, we’ve got to continue to get better and better,” he added. “There were a lot of things we did good out there tonight.”

Kilsyth led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter before Hollin’s two three-pointers allowed Lynn Camp to claim a 30-22 advantage at halftime.

The Lady Wildcats put the game out of reach during the game’s final 16 minutes behind solid play by Smith and solid defense.

“Tonight we played a few more girls than normal,” Hensley said. “It allows us to play a different  style.”
