JACKSON COUNTY — North Laurel coach Eddie Mahan was pleased that his team snapped their four-game losing skid, but he didn’t seem too happy with the Lady Jaguars’ overall performance during their 46-37 win over Jackson County Tuesday.

Why?

North Laurel (4-20) defeated the Lady Generals 53-28 back on Dec. 6 and needed an 8-2 run midway through the fourth quarter to pull away from the much-improved Jackson County squad.

“We played in the fourth quarter like we should have been playing the entire ball game,” Mahan said. “We mentally weren’t ready for this game. I’ll put that on my shoulders. I don’t know what we could have done to change in such a short turnaround. They have improved tremendously since the last time we played them.”

Jackson County held a 20-18 advantage at halftime before North Laurel took over during the game’s final 16 minutes and outscore the Lady Generals 28-17.
