LYNN CAMP — The Lynn Camp Wildcats knocked off Red Bird Tuesday, 77-54, extending their win streak to five games, the longest of the season for Clyde Dixon’s squad.

Zach Smith and Skylar McFarland did the bulk of the work, scoring 25 and 23 points apiece, respectively, accounting for just over 62 percent of the Wildcats’ points.

Despite the win, Dixon said he didn’t feel like his team played as well as it could have, but credited the Wildcats for a solid effort.

“This was the third game in four nights for us and I didn’t feel we played our best game,” Dixon said. “Red Bird has a couple of nice players and Eric Young for them is a scoring machine.

“We missed Matt Trosper, who sat this one out with an injury, but Bruce Hopkins did a good job in replacement,” he added. “This is five wins in a row for us, which is a big positive for this team.”

Lynn Camp held a slim 13-11 win at the end of the first quarter and was able to extend the margin to 29-22 at the halftime break.

The Wildcats picked up the pace in the third quarter, outscoring Red Bird 23-14 in the period, making the lead 52-36 with eight minutes to play in the game.

A 25-18 effort in the fourth quarter helped seal the deal for the Wildcats as they grabbed the 77-54 win.
