KNOX CENTRAL — Brian Evans’ Knox Central Panthers suffered a tough 51st District home loss Friday, as Pineville came to town and handed them a 44-39 loss.

The Panthers were without the services of starting guard Matthew Barger, and looks to be for at least next two weeks.

“It’s a tough loss for us,” Evans said. “Pineville played a very good game and you’ve got to give them credit.”

Knox Central was led in scoring by Jeffrey Adams, who had 13 points and the Panthers will be back in action again Tuesday against 51st District foe Barbourville.

“We just need to get one win right now,” Evans said. “We just didn’t handle the ball well tonight and we need to do a better job of that coming up against Barbourville.”
